![]() If I was going to make an $800 change in my archery setup I would want something spectacular to change. So the moral of the story here is I am a terrible example because I find it laughable at people that go out and buy a brand new bow each year that is marginally better. The quiet factor goes back to speed if you are only shooting 320 fps there is less energy being transferred which = a quieter shot. I know for a fact if I dry fired my omen it would turn into dozens of little pieces but I try to have the decency to nock an arrow before I ever pull the bow back. If I was going to drop $1400 on a bow that is the last thing I would need to risk. Hoyt bows are stronger, you can drive a loaded disel truck over and get up and shoot them. Yes the bow is lighter, but as mentioned you are talking about 3 pounds vs 4 pounds seems like you could choose lighter accessories and be at nearly an identical weight. The bow only has a 320 IBO there are plenty of buttery smooth bows on the market that will run laps around the Carbon Element. To say a bow is smoother and stronger is absolutely no lie. ![]() It costs alot of money because it is fast but bowtech, mathews and hoyt aren't going to pass it anytime soon so that to me would be a reason to drop big money on them. If I was ever going to buy a new bow I would want it to do something spectacular. I shoot PSE because I have found 4 what I consider great to incredible deals on PSE bows. I am a terrible example because I am about as cheap as they come. You have to stay away from Bargain Hunter outdoors, there trying to get me to junk my omen for the carbon element as well. It just did not feel right to me, but he would never trade it for anything.Ĭurrently shooting Z7, looking at the Carbon Element, is it worth the difference in price and why. I shot it and I could not hit the broad side of a barn with it. I did not buy a Carbon Element and I have not missed it.īTW - my son shoots a Hoyt Maxxis and he loves it. It comes down to do you really need to spend the extra money to have more success in hunting game. It may or may not be one of the best bows on the market, but it definitely is one of the most expensive. However, the price difference is significant and it was not so much more smoother, quieter, or lighter that I thought it was worth an extra $400+. It was a little smoother, alot lighter, and very quiet. Is it a "better" bow than a Z7? I would say that it probably is. The Z7 is a great bow - I have NEVER missed an animal that I have pulled the release on. I have harvested two bucks, two does, several hogs, rabbits, and even a few racoons. I have been shooting a Mathews Z7 since January 2010. If someone is going to spend that kind of money on a bow they are more than likely pretty serious about it and they already know they need to go shoot them and see what is better for them. If he would have asked about the Z7 vs brand X bow and I had shot both I would have given valid resons why he needs to look at the Z7 even though IMO the Z7 is way overhyped and not one of Mathews better bows if I think its an upgrade that someone needs to go check out. I have shot both the CE, the Z7 and the Z7 Extreme and I believe I have valid info that might be useful to him. I am shooting the Maxxis 31 and I still say the CE is a better bow. Unfortunately I didnt have enough money to buy a Carbon Element or I would be shooting one. Fortunately I was in a position that I could afford a new bow. Yeah and if you will read my previous post I WAS SHOOTING PSE WHEN I FIRST SHOT THE CARBON ELEMENT, and if I was still shooting my PSE X Force I would still say the Carbon Element was the best bow on the market.
